# Where does generated-app media storage live?

Uvilno's generated-app storage helper keeps visitor media on the device; it is distinct from creator-uploaded project assets and hosted collection records. An avatar does not prove a server upload or cross-device backup. Specify the storage boundary and test another device before promising persistent document access.

Several different things can look like an upload: a creator image included in a website, a visitor avatar stored locally, or a document saved to an external service. Name the intended owner, retention and access behavior rather than using one vague upload requirement.

Do not put sensitive documents into a prototype based on a misleading cloud-storage label. Browser storage may be unavailable, cleared or constrained. If a real server-backed file service is required, treat it as a separate supported integration and verify authorization, size limits and deletion.

## What to verify

| Check | Published behavior | Verification |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Visitor helper | Supported media remains device-local. | Reload locally, then compare another browser. |
| Project assets | Creator assets use a different managed pipeline. | Inspect referenced assets and the export manifest. |
| Shared documents | Cross-device access needs a real authorized service. | Test upload, retrieval and deletion from separate clients. |

## Steps

1. Identify the media owner and desired retention.
2. Label device-local behavior in the interface.
3. Test cleared storage and another device.

## Editable starting brief

Plan a personal profile app with a device-local avatar preference and private hosted text records. Label the avatar's local storage behavior, handle cleared or unavailable browser storage and avoid claiming cloud backup. Keep sensitive documents out until a separately supported server file integration is specified and verified.
