# Does copying a website's style migrate its application?

A reference can guide typography, layout and interaction direction, but cannot migrate source, customer data, credentials or business processes. Uvilno's style-reference and import workflows serve different purposes. Use only material you may provide, describe the behavior and verify any rebuilt flow against its service capabilities.

Public pages reveal a rendered interface, not the backend contract behind it. A screenshot cannot establish authorization, payment fulfillment or data ownership. Treat visual reference as design input and write the application's routes, records and failure behavior in your own brief.

If you own the source, an authorized repository import may preserve more structure than reconstructing a public page. Even then, service credentials, customer data and identity migration remain separate tasks. Do not copy another business's protected branding or claim a clone is a completed operational migration.

## What to verify

| Check | Published behavior | Verification |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Visual reference | It informs appearance, not backend access. | List design traits separately from functional requirements. |
| Source import | Authorized repositories supply code through a separate workflow. | Confirm ownership, branch and dependency contract. |
| Services | Private operations require deliberate integration. | Test each real account, data and checkout flow. |

## Steps

1. Describe the visual traits you want to learn from.
2. Write your own domain and behavior requirements.
3. Separate source import from data and identity migration.

## Editable starting brief

Plan my own service application using a supplied visual reference for spacing and typography only. Create original copy and branding, define real routes and private typed records, and explain any missing backend integration. Do not claim that copying the reference imports customer data, source code, accounts or payment history.
