# What should be checked before using GitHub sync?

Updated: 2026-10-27

Uvilno supports GitHub import, source push and pull for frontends; source pushes require project entitlement. Repository access does not migrate customer records or grant unrelated account permissions. Check the repository, branch, changes and conflict behavior before synchronizing, and keep credentials out of source and exports.

Use the correct repository and branch for the intended project. Inspect the proposed changes and confirm whether the external branch has moved since the last sync. A pull should not silently discard a local saved version or private draft without a clear conflict path.

Generated code is untrusted and still needs compilation and behavior checks after import. Secrets should remain in private environment settings rather than committed .env files. A GitHub connection makes code transport convenient, but is not a production deployment, backup of customer data or automatic security review.

## What to verify

| Check | Published behavior | Verification |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Authorization | GitHub actions require connected repository permissions. | Confirm the account, repository and branch. |
| Source access | A source push requires the applicable unlock. | Check the project's entitlement before pushing. |
| Conflict | Remote changes need deliberate reconciliation. | Compare the latest revision before sync. |

## Steps

1. Confirm the target repository and branch.
2. Review source entitlement and pending changes.
3. Pull or push only after checking remote revisions.

## Editable starting brief

Plan a frontend repository handoff for my existing application. Keep exact dependencies and assets, document build instructions and hosted services, exclude all credentials and customer data, and provide a checklist for branch selection, remote revision conflicts and a clean build after GitHub synchronization.
