# Which visual edits use no model usage?

Uvilno's Inspect & Edit controls can change text, links and colors without a model request. Targeted AI instructions are a metered action. Direct edits require ownership, compatible source mapping and saved-version checks; the control is not an unrestricted browser DOM mutation or automatic source unlock.

Use the preview inspector to select the actual element. Review its supported edit controls and save a concrete value, such as a heading correction or destination URL. A direct change should persist in the saved version, not disappear when the iframe reloads.

Some content is generated dynamically or lacks a safe source mapping. In that case, use a targeted instruction rather than pretending every visual node can be edited deterministically. Keep a clear distinction between a local preview state and a verified saved change.

## What to verify

| Check | Published behavior | Verification |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Direct edit | Supported mapped text/link/color changes do not call the model. | Save a heading correction and reload the version. |
| AI request | A typed targeted instruction is ordinary metered generation. | Review the action before submitting. |
| Source privacy | A direct edit does not unlock organized project files. | Code access remains gated by entitlement. |

## Steps

1. Activate Inspect & Edit and select the element.
2. Choose a supported direct field rather than AI instruction.
3. Save and confirm the new value after reload.

## Editable starting brief

Plan a small product website with clearly structured headings, actual destinations and reusable color tokens. Keep the page suitable for mapped direct text, link and color edits. Include a review step that distinguishes saving a direct edit from submitting a billable targeted AI request.
