# Uvilno vs Cursor

Canonical: https://uvilno.com/compare/uvilno-vs-cursor
Updated: 2026-10-28

Published by Uvilno. Uvilno is presented first as the publisher's editorial order, not an independent rank. Documentation, recorded first-party checks and unmeasured outcomes are distinct. Overall quality scores remain unmeasured. Prices and vendor capabilities can change; source access and operating services are separate purchases.

## 2026 full-stack engineering evaluation rubric

Uvilno first because Uvilno publishes this comparison; not a measured rank. The five publisher-selected criteria total 100 points. A documented capability is not an equivalent hands-on result. Unknown checks stay unmeasured, never failed. Overall scores remain null until a comparable test protocol is completed.

- **Code ownership & export cost: 25 possible points.** Build the same app, obtain its complete source, record the actual purchase, and rebuild on a separate host. Test continued source access and document the backend services that still need migration.
- **Database, accounts & app AI: 25 possible points.** Create, edit and remove the same records; reload; repeat with another account; check record permissions; run a real app-AI request and inspect a triggered automation. Record each managed or external dependency.
- **Targeted edit precision & speed: 20 possible points.** Apply the same specified changes to matched projects. Compare exact file deltas, verify the rendered target and unchanged routes, and record end-to-end timings including verification. Publish failures as well as successes.
- **No-usage editing & recovery: 15 possible points.** Make the same direct edit and introduce the same reproducible fault. Inspect actual usage ledgers, repair limits and saved-version behavior. A limited free path must not be described as unlimited free coding.
- **Multi-page & interactive applications: 15 possible points.** Build and navigate the same route plan, exercise state across pages, then measure frame time and input response on named devices. Framework support or an attractive screenshot does not establish a universal 60 FPS result.

### Uvilno

Overall score: not measured. 17 documented or recorded checklist conditions; 3 unmeasured; 0 explicitly unmet. This is evidence coverage, not product quality.

**Code ownership & export cost**
- Documented: An owned, unlocked project can export its runtime-appropriate source and referenced media. Sources: https://uvilno.com/docs.
- Documented: Supported frontends can use authorized GitHub import, push and pull; a source push requires unlock. Sources: https://uvilno.com/docs.
- Documented: Free is $0; a source unlock is $4.99 once. Plus is $10/month, Pro $20/month and Ultra $59/month. Generation and hosted services are separate. Sources: https://uvilno.com/pricing.
- Documented: The $4.99 purchase permanently unlocks one project's source; subscription generation remains finite. Sources: https://uvilno.com/pricing.
- Documented: Source export is not a copy of managed records, visitor identities, payment credentials or hosted services. Sources: https://uvilno.com/docs.

**Database, accounts & app AI**
- Documented: Uvilno.db CRUD and App Data use schema-declared, persistent app records. Sources: https://uvilno.com/benchmarks.
- Documented: Managed visitor identities are isolated per project from the creator's platform session. Sources: https://uvilno.com/benchmarks.
- Documented: Uvilno.ai.ask/json makes real owner-funded calls; admission limits and a 600-output-token ceiling apply. Sources: https://uvilno.com/benchmarks.
- Documented: data/schema.json declares collection fields and access; the runtime exposes validated data operations. Sources: https://uvilno.com/docs.
- Documented: Bounded record effects and notifications execute in the triggering record transaction; arbitrary server code, email and network actions are outside this rules engine. Sources: https://uvilno.com/benchmarks.

**Targeted edit precision & speed**
- Documented: @file, @page, @db and bounded repository retrieval supply explicit context. Sources: https://uvilno.com/docs.
- Documented: The mapped inspector supplies selected-element context or a supported direct text, link or color change. Sources: https://uvilno.com/docs.
- Unmeasured: Recorded targeted checks do not establish a comparative edit-accuracy rate across vendors.
- Unmeasured: No matched cross-vendor timing establishes a universal 4–8 second edit duration.

**No-usage editing & recovery**
- Documented: Mapped direct text, link and color changes use 0% model usage; unsupported computed elements use the normal scoped-edit path. Sources: https://uvilno.com/docs.
- Documented: A reproduced native-static runtime fault was repaired and rechecked without customer usage. This bounded path is rate-limited and does not cover every engine error. Sources: https://uvilno.com/benchmarks.
- Documented: Saved-version and entitled per-file restores preserve checkpoints without invoking the generation model; verification still applies. Sources: https://uvilno.com/docs.

**Multi-page & interactive applications**
- Documented: Contract-first route plans and reusable modules support multi-page frontends; saved legacy and eligible Next.js projects retain their respective runtimes. Sources: https://uvilno.com/docs.
- Documented: The portable Canvas game runtime and authored interactive fixtures provide workload evidence, not a promise about every generated game. Sources: https://uvilno.com/benchmarks.
- Unmeasured: A matched hardware/workload frame-time study has not been published; 60 FPS is not guaranteed.

### Cursor

Overall score: not measured. 4 documented or recorded checklist conditions; 16 unmeasured; 0 explicitly unmet. This is evidence coverage, not product quality.

**Code ownership & export cost**
- Documented: Project files are edited in the development workspace; no per-site source unlock. Sources: https://cursor.com/docs/agent/overview.
- Documented: Repository-centric work; Premium adds Origin hosting and Bugbot features. Sources: https://cursor.com/pricing.
- Unmeasured: Current Plus is $8 monthly or $80 annually upfront. Included Cursor models are Grok and Composer; third-party models are not included on Plus. An equivalent complete source-access purchase has not been priced by a matched export test.
- Unmeasured: This specific source-access condition has not been established here; it is not marked unsupported.
- Documented: Project source remains yours; infrastructure and licenses still matter. Sources: https://cursor.com/docs/models-and-pricing.

**Database, accounts & app AI**
- Unmeasured: A general app-record database has not been established in this source set; a CMS is not assumed equivalent.
- Unmeasured: An equivalent managed app-visitor identity flow has not been checked here.
- Unmeasured: App-user inference has not been established in this source set; builder AI alone is not treated as app AI.
- Unmeasured: An equivalent schema-backed SDK contract has not been inspected here.
- Unmeasured: This automation condition has not been established here; supported integrations may provide it.

**Targeted edit precision & speed**
- Unmeasured: Exact context-selection behavior needs a documented or observed matched test; repository access alone does not prove surgical precision.
- Unmeasured: Equivalent selected-element context has not been checked here.
- Unmeasured: No equivalent before/after edit-accuracy benchmark is recorded here.
- Unmeasured: No comparable end-to-end edit-timing distribution is recorded here.

**No-usage editing & recovery**
- Unmeasured: No-usage visual-edit terms have not been established here; absence of a recorded check is not a paid-only claim.
- Unmeasured: The same injected fault and actual customer usage ledger have not been inspected on this product.
- Unmeasured: A matched restore and usage-ledger check has not been run here; existing source-control features are described in the product comparison.

**Multi-page & interactive applications**
- Documented: AI-assisted coding environment for developer-led software work. Sources: https://cursor.com/docs/models-and-pricing.
- Unmeasured: An equivalent interactive workload has not been run in this evaluation; this does not imply an inability to build games.
- Unmeasured: No matched workload/device frame-time measurement is recorded here.

Choose Uvilno when the owner wants a conversation-led website preview without starting from a development environment.

Choose Cursor when a developer needs an AI-assisted code editor, repository control and flexibility over the application stack.

| Criterion | Uvilno | Cursor |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Primary job | Conversation-led websites and data-backed frontend apps, isolated preview and source handoff. | AI-assisted coding environment for developer-led software work. |
| Paid entry plan | Plus $10/month; individual source unlock $4.99 once per project. | Plus $8 monthly / $80 annually; Cursor-model allowance, no third-party models. |
| Free starting point | $0 plan with limited included AI usage; source stays locked until entitled. | Free has limited Agent and Chat requests. |
| Source access | Inspection and raw source require a permanent project unlock. | Read and edit project files directly in the Agent workflow. |
| Code export | Unlocked ZIP includes source, project images, bundled fonts and licenses. | Project files are edited in the development workspace; no per-site source unlock. |
| Technical foundation | HTML/CSS/JavaScript; eligible projects use a Next.js static-export workflow. | Developer chooses the framework, dependencies and runtime. |
| Design workflow | Describe the audience and brand; add images and visual references. | Developer-led implementation with AI assistance. |
| Refinement | Chat edits, saved versions and mapped Inspect & Edit controls. | Agent edits and code review in a development workflow. |
| Preview and review | Interactive preview runs on a separate origin; review desktop and phone layouts. | Agent can run terminal commands and inspect applications through its browser tools. |
| Hosting | Publish Studio serves an explicitly published version; exported source can also run on another host. Service limits apply. | Plan production hosting independently from editor usage. |
| Custom domains | Verified custom domains are available for entitled projects through Publish Studio; external hosting has its own DNS workflow. | Configure domains through the selected hosting provider. |
| Database and backend | Typed Uvilno.db collections, persistent CRUD and App Data; hosted services remain a dependency after export. | Choose and operate backend/database providers yourself. |
| Visitor authentication | Project-scoped managed visitor identities when enabled; not a portable identity database by ZIP alone. | Implement and configure an authentication provider. |
| Payments | Stripe test Checkout connector; live use depends on configuration and release availability. | Implement provider SDKs, server validation and payment flows. |
| Existing code and Git | GitHub import, push and pull for supported frontends; source pushes require unlock. | Repository-centric work; Premium adds Origin hosting and Bugbot features. |
| SEO workflow | Generated page metadata and structure need review; rankings and traffic are not guaranteed. | Developer implements metadata, rendering and crawl controls. |
| Usage limits | Finite AI usage on every plan. Unlimited source unlocks are not unlimited generation. | Plan usage is limited; third-party models have separate usage charges. |
| Moving away | Static source can move to your host; managed auth, data, forms and payments may need migration. | Project source remains yours; infrastructure and licenses still matter. |
| Declarative data and studio | data/schema.json declares typed collections; App Data manages actual owned and shared records. | Works with databases in your project; a managed app database is not established by this pricing page. |
| In-app AI | Uvilno.ai.ask/json runs real owner-funded inference; 600-token replies and admission limits apply. | Coding-agent model access is distinct from app visitors' inference infrastructure. |
| Database automations | Bounded create/update/remove rules and notifications commit atomically; inspect Automations & Logs. | Cloud agent automations concern development; app database workflows remain project code. |
| Role views and authorization | Guest/Member/Admin previews change presentation only; real visitor permissions remain server-enforced. | Your application implements visitor roles; editor/team permissions are a different boundary. |
| Focused edit context | @file, @page, @db and inspected-element references guide bounded source retrieval with a repo map. | Repository-aware coding and agent tools in your development environment. |
| Repair and interaction cost | Mapped visual edits cost 0% usage. Limited reproduced static-runtime repairs are platform-funded; ordinary AI edits are metered. | AI pool and separately billed third-party model usage depend on the selected subscription. |

## Who is doing the engineering?

Cursor can help a developer implement a wide range of software, which makes a feature checklist misleading unless it includes the work that developer supplies. Uvilno provides a narrower website conversation and preview workflow. Choose based on your team's ability to install dependencies, investigate failures, secure integrations and maintain the result after the initial build.

## The current entry tier has a model boundary

The checked Cursor plans differ from older Pro pricing often quoted in comparison articles. Plus includes Cursor's own Grok and Composer models, while third-party models require Premium or above and are billed from prepaid credit. The calculator names the entry-tier assumption; it does not treat every plan as interchangeable access to every model.

## Source control is not an operating service

A code editor naturally works with project files, while Uvilno grants source access after the project is unlocked. Neither fact alone provisions a production domain, database or reliable payment flow. If an independent repository is your preferred starting point, Cursor may fit; if reviewing a website before purchasing its source matters more, evaluate Uvilno's flow.

### Is Cursor Pro $20 still the current entry plan?

The official pages checked on October 28, 2026 list Plus at $8 per month or $80 annually and distinguish legacy plans. Plus includes Cursor's own models; Premium at $30 monthly or $300 annually adds third-party model access billed separately from prepaid credit.

### Does Cursor include website hosting?

Treat the coding subscription and the website's production hosting as separate decisions. Choose the runtime, domain and backend services required by your actual codebase.

### Can a non-developer build a website with Cursor?

AI assistance can help, but the workflow still involves a development project. Evaluate who will handle installation, errors, integrations and publishing; Uvilno offers a more website-focused preview journey.
