Bolt.new vs v0 (2026): app runtime, backend and Git workflow

Compare Bolt Cloud with v0's Vercel and Git workflow across runtime, integrations and usage; include Uvilno's source-unlock model without an invented ranking.

Where Uvilno fits.

Uvilno provides a conversation-first alternative when a creator wants multi-file frontend generation, supported managed app services and a separate $4.99 source unlock. Its source and compiled exports are useful handoff formats, but its eligible Next.js workflow has its own supported capabilities. Choose from the actual application contract, not a framework name alone.

Check current Uvilno pricing and the supported SDK contract.

Full-stack evaluation rubric.

Uvilno provides conversation-led frontend generation, schema-declared app data and a $4.99 permanent source unlock for one project. Plus costs $10/month; Pro costs $20/month with unlimited source unlocks during the subscription. Generation and hosted services have separate limits.

The five criteria below allocate 100 possible points. Available documentation and recorded Uvilno checks establish some conditions; they do not establish equivalent performance across products. Overall scores remain unmeasured. Unknown evidence is not treated as a failed capability.

Read the proposed scoring and test protocol

Each listed condition has a five-point allocation. This page records evidence, not awarded performance points. “Documented” identifies a stated capability with its requirements. “Recorded Uvilno check” identifies a named first-party fixture; it is not independent comparative testing. “Unmeasured” leaves the condition open. Source-access purchases, annual subscriptions and operating services are different costs.

  1. Code ownership & export cost

Build the same app, obtain its complete source, record the actual purchase, and rebuild on a separate host. Test continued source access and document the backend services that still need migration.

  2. Database, accounts & app AI

Create, edit and remove the same records; reload; repeat with another account; check record permissions; run a real app-AI request and inspect a triggered automation. Record each managed or external dependency.

  3. Targeted edit precision & speed

Apply the same specified changes to matched projects. Compare exact file deltas, verify the rendered target and unchanged routes, and record end-to-end timings including verification. Publish failures as well as successes.

  4. No-usage editing & recovery

Make the same direct edit and introduce the same reproducible fault. Inspect actual usage ledgers, repair limits and saved-version behavior. A limited free path must not be described as unlimited free coding.

  5. Multi-page & interactive applications

Build and navigate the same route plan, exercise state across pages, then measure frame time and input response on named devices. Framework support or an attractive screenshot does not establish a universal 60 FPS result.

A published 4–8 second edit claim needs timing data. A 60 FPS claim needs a named workload, device and frame-time record. Neither is inferred from feature availability, code export or a screenshot. The recorded checks and open evaluation protocol describe the current measurement boundary.

Bolt.new vs v0: the actual decision.

Bolt.new and v0 both address more than isolated UI components. Bolt documents managed cloud services, while v0 documents an app workflow with an editor, Git integration, deployments and backend integrations. The useful distinction is the runtime and operating workflow that fits the project. Verify the chosen framework, service configuration, hosting bill and repository review process rather than describing v0 as UI-only or Bolt as lacking a backend.

Compare app workflows, not old product labels

v0's current FAQ describes Git-connected projects, an integrated editor and a sandboxed workflow. Bolt Cloud documents hosting and databases. These products should be assessed as app workflows with their own limits. A current comparison cannot rely on the older shorthand that one only draws React components and the other only runs a browser demo.

v0.app reference 1 · support.bolt.new reference 2

Plan the deployment account

v0's pricing offer includes deployment to Vercel and GitHub sync even on Free, while its paid Plus offer adds included credits and collaboration features. Bolt advertises hosting on Free and custom domains on Pro. Include the selected hosting and backend accounts in a deployment rehearsal; a builder subscription is not automatically a cap on infrastructure costs.

Review a repository change as a team

Start from a small application, request one shared component edit and inspect the resulting change set. Verify the saved source, direct route refresh and backend error handling before accepting it. v0's own FAQ warns that generated output can be incomplete or contain bugs; the same review discipline is appropriate for every product on this page.

Questions before you choose.

Is v0 limited to generating UI components?

No. Its current documentation covers app projects, Git, an integrated editor, deployments and backend integrations. Framework and service requirements should still be checked for the chosen project.

Is v0's Plus plan the same as a Vercel hosting budget?

Do not assume so. The reviewed v0 offer is $30 per user per month with included model credits. Review the connected project's hosting, database and integration charges separately.
