Uvilno provides conversation-led frontend generation, schema-declared app data and a $4.99 permanent source unlock for one project. Plus costs $10/month; Pro costs $20/month with unlimited source unlocks during the subscription. Generation and hosted services have separate limits.
The five criteria below allocate 100 possible points. Available documentation and recorded Uvilno checks establish some conditions; they do not establish equivalent performance across products. Overall scores remain unmeasured. Unknown evidence is not treated as a failed capability.

Read the proposed scoring and test protocol
Each listed condition has a five-point allocation. This page records evidence, not awarded performance points. “Documented” identifies a stated capability with its requirements. “Recorded Uvilno check” identifies a named first-party fixture; it is not independent comparative testing. “Unmeasured” leaves the condition open. Source-access purchases, annual subscriptions and operating services are different costs.
Code ownership & export cost
Build the same app, obtain its complete source, record the actual purchase, and rebuild on a separate host. Test continued source access and document the backend services that still need migration.
Database, accounts & app AI
Create, edit and remove the same records; reload; repeat with another account; check record permissions; run a real app-AI request and inspect a triggered automation. Record each managed or external dependency.
Targeted edit precision & speed
Apply the same specified changes to matched projects. Compare exact file deltas, verify the rendered target and unchanged routes, and record end-to-end timings including verification. Publish failures as well as successes.
No-usage editing & recovery
Make the same direct edit and introduce the same reproducible fault. Inspect actual usage ledgers, repair limits and saved-version behavior. A limited free path must not be described as unlimited free coding.
Multi-page & interactive applications
Build and navigate the same route plan, exercise state across pages, then measure frame time and input response on named devices. Framework support or an attractive screenshot does not establish a universal 60 FPS result.
A published 4–8 second edit claim needs timing data. A 60 FPS claim needs a named workload, device and frame-time record. Neither is inferred from feature availability, code export or a screenshot. The recorded checks and open evaluation protocol describe the current measurement boundary.
Choose a boundary you can operate
Base44, Emergent, Lovable and Uvilno are worth comparing when an application needs more than static pages. Start by identifying what you expect the platform to operate and what you expect to maintain yourself. An account screen, a database, an AI call and a payment integration may each have a different provider or ownership boundary. Write those boundaries down. Without that exercise, phrases such as full-stack and own your code can describe very different practical outcomes while appearing equivalent on a feature checklist.
Uvilno publishes this comparison and has an interest in the decision. The aim is to make that decision inspectable, not to disguise an editorial preference as an independent benchmark. Official documentation establishes what the other products publish; Uvilno's integration tests establish the specific Uvilno behaviors exercised. Neither source establishes a universal winner, a comparative completion rate or an automatic annual savings figure. Choose a narrow application slice and test it in each shortlisted workflow using the same requirements and non-sensitive disposable records.

Compare the managed-backend contract
Base44's developer material describes a managed backend with database, auth and other platform capabilities, accessed through its SDK and CLI. It also documents code ownership and export options. Treat those as real published capabilities rather than claiming the product categorically prohibits code export. Your evaluation should identify which backend functions and data resources remain managed after the frontend is obtained. Read the current plan-specific terms, inspect the package and establish what a replacement implementation would require before describing an application as independently hosted.
Uvilno's managed collection contract is deliberately explicit. A data/schema.json declaration names typed collections, fields, references and optional bounded automations. Generated forms call Uvilno.db methods, and the owner can inspect actual records through App Data. Private rows follow the real project visitor identity; supported public collections have a separate reading rule. This is not arbitrary server provisioning or a general-purpose backend runtime inside the exported ZIP. If your product requires custom jobs, cross-organization permissions or specialist infrastructure, include those requirements in the comparison instead of assuming they follow from a database checkbox.
Inspect the application journey behind the agent
Emergent publishes an agent-led application workflow and documents taking source out through its supported handoff. The practical evaluation should follow an application all the way through a record write, a page reload and a later revision. Check which services the generated code uses, where its database contents can be exported and what the deployment requires. Source, secrets and customer data should not be treated as one indistinguishable download. Published integration support is useful context, but it does not replace testing your actual authentication and payment behavior.
Uvilno's contract-first process specifies routes, modules and supported services before generating the full candidate. Shared foundations and data contracts guide later pages. The repository inventory and selected @ references then help focus refinements on the relevant context. This improves the structure of the task; it is not proof that an arbitrary complex application will always finish, or that every change affects exactly one file. Preserve the previous verified result and inspect any recovered draft as a separate, unfinished artifact until the required checks and save complete.
Ownership is not the same as a finished migration
Lovable's ownership and deployment documentation discusses code access and hosting choices. Read it before assuming that every competing builder creates unavoidable proprietary lock-in. The substantive question is what your particular project still needs after handoff: a database, identity provider, storage, AI gateway, payment webhooks or a specific runtime. A frontend repository can be available while those services need their own migration. Compare the documented process with an actual clean build and an inventory of required configuration, rather than relying on either a blanket lock-in claim or a blanket portability promise.
The same standard applies to Uvilno. A $4.99 permanent project unlock enables the supported source export and source handoff; it does not provision a separate copy of Uvilno’s managed backend. Fonts, referenced project assets and runtime files belong in the package, while private customer records and secrets do not. If you continue using managed auth, data or AI after export, document that dependency and register the final origin where required. If you replace it, test the new implementation, data transfer and account recovery independently before directing real visitors to the new host.
Test real identity before changing the preview role
For any account-based app, sign in as one disposable visitor, create a private record and sign out. Sign in as a second visitor and verify that the first record is absent and cannot be requested directly. Return to the creator's builder session and confirm it remains the creator. This simple sequence catches distinctions a polished login modal cannot establish: whether identity belongs to the generated app, whether private data follows that identity and whether a preview flow accidentally interferes with the platform account used to build it.
Uvilno isolates generated-app visitor identities from the platform creator session. Its Guest/Member/Admin selector is a presentation-testing control, so changing that selector never grants access to another visitor’s data. An admin-looking drawer can still be useful for reviewing layout, but actual staff administration needs explicit server-side privileges and verification. Include invitations, organization membership and account deletion only when the product implements their real semantics. A client-side flag, hidden button or data-role attribute is not a substitute for that authorization model in any of the four builders.
Trace the write and the inference to a real result
Evaluate an automation with a small, observable task: creating a follow-up should create one scoped activity entry. Replay the same request if the supported API permits an idempotency check, then make an action invalid in a disposable test to inspect rollback behavior. Uvilno’s declarative rules run within the original managed-record transaction, support bounded actions and do not recursively execute arbitrary user code. Its Automations & Logs tab reports committed metadata. That is useful evidence for a supported workflow, but it does not imply email delivery, scheduling or unrestricted background execution.
For an AI feature, require a real provider response rather than a prepared string. Uvilno.ai.ask and Uvilno.ai.json use a project visitor session and the creator’s metered allowance, with response and admission limits. The current response ceiling is 600 output tokens. A JSON description guides output but does not validate arbitrary domain semantics, so the app must check required fields and handle incomplete or failed responses. Apply the same honest-result test to the other builders, while recording each tool’s documented model, billing and service requirements separately from the observable output.
Compare repeatable iteration and the right cost category
Make the same focused edit in every trial project. For example, ask for a status filter that preserves the existing table and customer details. Record the exact instruction, affected files where accessible, elapsed time, measured usage and whether the result actually works. Uvilno offers @file, @db and inspected-element context to clarify the target; Inspect & Edit also supports mapped text, link and color changes without model usage. Those are distinct mechanisms. Their existence does not establish a guaranteed four-to-eight-second AI edit time across models, projects and network conditions.
Budget building and operating separately. Uvilno keeps Free at $0, a one-project source unlock at $4.99, Plus at $10 monthly, Pro at $20 and Ultra at $59. Finite usage and included source entitlements differ by plan, so unlimited unlocks should not be read as unlimited inference. Competitor plans also bundle different resources and may change. Use dated official pricing and the task’s measured usage, then add hosting, external services and maintenance. A one-time source fee versus twelve months of a broad platform subscription is not automatically a like-for-like total-ownership comparison.
Finish with a launch checklist, not a claimed winner
Retain an evaluation note for each tool containing the same core brief, what the provider documents, what you actually tested and what remains unknown. Include at least a save/reload result, two-account isolation result, focused edit result and export dependency list. If one item could not be tested, mark it untested rather than assigning a zero or inventing a score. A small honest record is more useful to the person maintaining the product than a hundred-point chart with no reproducible method or comparable trial conditions.
Before choosing, try the actual visitor journey on a narrow phone and through keyboard navigation. Review validation, loading, failure recovery and destructive actions, not only successful screens. Uvilno's managed Stripe connector is currently in test mode: distinguish that configured checkout from live financial activity and check the provider’s real onboarding requirements. If storing customer information, review access, retention and deletion for the data involved. The appropriate builder is the one whose supported scope, operating model and unresolved work fit your requirements; that decision can differ between a public marketing site, a personal tool and a multi-tenant business application.
- Keep the same brief and disposable test data.
- Record positive, negative and untested outcomes.
- Review real access control and service dependencies.
- Choose against the requirements you can operate.
Common questions
Does Base44 prohibit all code exports?
No. Base44 publishes code ownership and export options. Inspect its current plan requirements and what remains dependent on the managed backend; do the same dependency review for Uvilno and the other tools.
Does the preview Admin selector make me a real app administrator?
No. Uvilno's selector changes presentation only. Actual account identity and server-side data permissions remain unchanged.
Which tool won a controlled four-product benchmark?
No controlled four-product benchmark is claimed in this guide. Published capabilities, specific Uvilno integration checks and a proposed evaluation method are identified separately.
