Lovable vs Bolt.new (2026): cloud, credits and source handoff

Understand Lovable's managed backend and unified credits alongside Bolt Cloud, token allowances and code workflows; compare Uvilno's separate source entitlement.

Where Uvilno fits.

Consider Uvilno for a narrowly defined web application whose source entitlement should remain separate from recurring generation. The visible remaining-usage meter, saved versions and free mapped visual changes can make iteration easier to account for. A $4.99 unlock is a permanent source handoff for one project, not a substitute for a generation or infrastructure budget.

Check current Uvilno pricing and the supported SDK contract.

Full-stack evaluation rubric.

Uvilno provides conversation-led frontend generation, schema-declared app data and a $4.99 permanent source unlock for one project. Plus costs $10/month; Pro costs $20/month with unlimited source unlocks during the subscription. Generation and hosted services have separate limits.

The five criteria below allocate 100 possible points. Available documentation and recorded Uvilno checks establish some conditions; they do not establish equivalent performance across products. Overall scores remain unmeasured. Unknown evidence is not treated as a failed capability.

Read the proposed scoring and test protocol

Each listed condition has a five-point allocation. This page records evidence, not awarded performance points. “Documented” identifies a stated capability with its requirements. “Recorded Uvilno check” identifies a named first-party fixture; it is not independent comparative testing. “Unmeasured” leaves the condition open. Source-access purchases, annual subscriptions and operating services are different costs.

  1. Code ownership & export cost

Build the same app, obtain its complete source, record the actual purchase, and rebuild on a separate host. Test continued source access and document the backend services that still need migration.

  2. Database, accounts & app AI

Create, edit and remove the same records; reload; repeat with another account; check record permissions; run a real app-AI request and inspect a triggered automation. Record each managed or external dependency.

  3. Targeted edit precision & speed

Apply the same specified changes to matched projects. Compare exact file deltas, verify the rendered target and unchanged routes, and record end-to-end timings including verification. Publish failures as well as successes.

  4. No-usage editing & recovery

Make the same direct edit and introduce the same reproducible fault. Inspect actual usage ledgers, repair limits and saved-version behavior. A limited free path must not be described as unlimited free coding.

  5. Multi-page & interactive applications

Build and navigate the same route plan, exercise state across pages, then measure frame time and input response on named devices. Framework support or an attractive screenshot does not establish a universal 60 FPS result.

A published 4–8 second edit claim needs timing data. A 60 FPS claim needs a named workload, device and frame-time record. Neither is inferred from feature availability, code export or a screenshot. The recorded checks and open evaluation protocol describe the current measurement boundary.

Lovable vs Bolt.new: the actual decision.

Lovable and Bolt.new both provide app-building workflows with managed backend options. Lovable documents a shared credit balance for building and app operation; Bolt advertises token allowances and Bolt Cloud hosting and databases. A useful comparison follows the cost and responsibility for the same deployed workflow, rather than assuming that one product needs manual backend wiring or that the other's subscription covers every operating expense.

Official product references: Lovable documentation · Bolt.new documentation.

Both products can supply a backend

Lovable Cloud includes managed database, authentication and storage. Bolt Cloud also includes database and user-management facilities. A universal claim that either product can only work after manually connecting Supabase would misdescribe the current offer. Compare schema editing, permission review, backup and recovery behavior for the particular backend you choose.

Credit counts are not token counts

Lovable Pro 100 and Bolt Pro both list a $25 monthly entry in the reviewed sources, but their included units and operating policies differ. Lovable uses credits; Bolt's entry Pro offer lists a token allowance. Do not equate one credit with a fixed number of tokens or forecast project cost from subscription price alone.

Evaluate the second edit, not only the first page

Ask for one navigation change after a working build. Compare the changed files, check that existing form behavior survives, and reopen the saved version. Then repeat a database-backed interaction. These observations reveal the workflow cost for your app without presenting an undocumented edit-speed or error-repair ranking as a fact.

Questions before you choose.

Is Bolt.new only a frontend playground?

No. Bolt documents Bolt Cloud hosting and databases, including authentication and server-function tools. Check the chosen runtime and service limits for the application rather than treating the product as frontend-only.

Does the same $25 price mean the same amount of building?

No. Lovable credits and Bolt tokens represent different accounting models. The reviewed monthly entry prices are comparable subscription figures, not proof of equivalent build capacity or running cost.

Can a cheaper source unlock replace either service subscription?

Uvilno's $4.99 unlock covers one project's source entitlement. It does not purchase unlimited model usage, database capacity or another provider's infrastructure. Compare those needs separately.

Sources and method.

Uvilno publishes this comparison and is displayed first as an editorial presentation choice, not an independent ranking. Vendor statements come from the linked official documentation reviewed on October 28, 2026. No common-brief generation contest, aesthetic score, universal frame rate or edit-latency benchmark was performed for this page. A source handoff and migration of hosted data, accounts and services are separate tasks.
