Understand credits and usage before choosing an AI builder
Read AI-builder allowances without guesswork. Separate processing, project unlocks, downloads, refills, and external costs, then estimate a useful plan.

Read as MarkdownA credit is useful only when its rules are clear
A pricing page can display hundreds of credits without telling you how much useful work they buy. The unit might represent a message, token processing, a weighted task, or an internal conversion that changes with the model and context. That does not automatically make a credit system unfair. The problem is uncertainty: you cannot plan a project if the visible allowance and the work being metered are difficult to connect.
This Uvilno-authored guide takes the concern seriously without claiming every competing builder is deceptive. It does not present evidence that another service costs five times more, or that a specific number of credits guarantees a finished site. Instead, use a few concrete questions to understand the system you are considering. What consumes allowance? What happens during retries? What expires? What remains yours? The answers matter more than whether a vendor calls its unit credits, tokens, or usage.
Separate processing, source access, and running costs
Building a website involves different purchases. AI processing produces or revises the work. Source access determines when you can inspect or download the generated project files. Hosting, domains, and connected services keep a public site or app running. Some products bundle several of these; others price them separately. A low monthly headline can be attractive while leaving an important deployment dependency outside the plan, so write down the full release path before comparing totals.
Unlimited downloads are not the same as unlimited generation. An archive can be downloaded repeatedly without asking a model to revise it. Similarly, an included project unlock grants source access but does not necessarily create more processing capacity. In Uvilno, locked files remain private until unlock; a permanent unlock stays with the project. That ownership boundary is different from the monthly allowance used for builds, edits, planning, enhancement, continuations, and repair.

| Cost | What it pays for | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| AI usage | Actual model processing | Which operations count, including failed candidates? |
| Project unlock | Access to project source | Does the unlock remain after cancellation? |
| Downloads | Retrieving an authorized archive | Is this a new unlock or a repeat download? |
| Hosting and services | Public delivery and runtime dependencies | Who operates and bills each dependency? |
Read Uvilno's current plans as separate entitlements
Uvilno currently offers Free at $0, a one-time project source unlock at $4.99, Plus at $10 per month, Pro at $20, and Ultra at $59. Free includes monthly trial usage and previewing. Plus includes standard monthly usage and two distinct new project unlocks per paid month. Pro and Ultra include unlimited project unlocks during the paid period. Already unlocked projects remain downloadable after a subscription ends; the unlock belongs to that project.
The AI-capacity relationships come from the current configured monthly allowance: Pro provides 2.5 times Plus, while Ultra provides five times Pro, or 12.5 times Plus. These are capacity ratios, not promises of a fixed number of sites. A simple text revision and a large multi-page rebuild can consume different amounts. Monthly studio usage resets with the billing cycle; purchased project refills are separate and persist until used. Consult the current pricing and account balance before planning around a particular allowance.

Understand why two requests can use different amounts
A model processes context as well as the text you type. A revision can include the existing requirements, relevant files, asset descriptions, and instructions needed to preserve the project. A larger task can produce more output, require continuation, or need repair before it becomes a valid saved version. Comparing requests only by the number of words in your message misses much of the work. The same short instruction can be cheap in one project and extensive in another.
Uvilno reserves capacity for a model request and then settles actual provider processing, using labelled estimates where necessary. A failed HTTP attempt releases its hold; actual model work can still count even if the candidate later fails to compile or verify. There is no additional flat turn fee layered over the actual processing described by the current usage system. The practical implication is to distinguish a network failure before work begins from a completed but unusable attempt that still required computation.
Reduce unnecessary work with a coherent release scope
The most reliable way to control usage is to reduce ambiguity and unnecessary rebuilds. Prepare verified facts and assets, choose the first-release pages, and describe the behavior that matters. Ask for a plan when the structure is uncertain. Keep a successful design direction and request focused changes rather than repeatedly restarting from a new aesthetic. This does not guarantee a particular cost, but it makes the work easier to review and reduces avoidable churn.
Avoid false economies. A brief that omits the data model or failure states may save a few words while causing a much larger correction later. Equally, a long prompt filled with unrelated features can expand the task far beyond what you need. Group revisions by purpose and test after each coherent change. Preserve a known-good version before a larger experiment. If the project has become confused, clarify the goal before asking the model to keep repairing an unstable direction.
Example brief · replace with your details
Keep the existing pages, palette, and working inquiry form. Change only the Workshops page: add the supplied dates, show a clear sold-out state for full sessions, and keep the contact destination unchanged. Do not introduce checkout or accounts.
Estimate a plan from a representative project
Choose a project close to your real workload and record its initial build, purposeful revisions, and final export needs. Note the allowance before and after each explicit processing action and the time spent reviewing. A single trial cannot predict every future task, but it gives you a better basis than dividing a plan's credit count by a guessed message cost. Keep unusually large or failed attempts in the record instead of silently excluding them.
Estimate a range, not a precise promise. A client campaign with supplied copy differs from an application whose behavior is still being discovered. Include your expected number of distinct source unlocks and the cost of external hosting or services. If you are comparing products, use the same brief and revision budget. Do not translate one vendor's credit into another vendor's unit without evidence about how both systems meter the same task.
- Record the plan and date of the trial.
- Measure before and after explicit processing actions.
- Count unsuccessful attempts that used real processing.
- Include distinct source unlocks and external dependencies.
- Budget a range for revisions rather than a fixed site count.
Ask the questions that reveal an unclear allowance
Look for a clear explanation of resets, rollover, top-ups, cancellation, and included entitlements. Ask whether unused monthly allowance survives into the next period and whether a purchased refill behaves differently. Check what happens when a build is interrupted, when you retry it, and when automated repair runs. A product does not need to expose private provider credentials to explain these rules. It should give you enough information to understand the visible balance and the actions that change it.
For source access, ask what remains available after cancellation and whether deleting a project restores an included unlock. In Uvilno, Plus counts distinct project unlocks and deletion does not restore that monthly allowance. For connected applications, ask whether the hosted services continue to be dependencies after export. A source archive is valuable, but it does not automatically move visitor records, authentication, or payment infrastructure into your hosting account.
Judge value by a verified result and understandable terms
The useful outcome is a working release you can maintain, not the largest number printed beside a credit icon. Evaluate the quality of the result, how much clarification it needed, what it costs to export, and which dependencies remain. A more expensive plan can be worthwhile if it fits a demanding workflow; a small one-time unlock can be enough for a finished static site. The correct choice depends on your use, not an unmeasured claim of universal savings.
Keep screenshots or notes of the terms you relied on and recheck current pricing before a purchase. If a charge or balance change is unclear, report the project, action, time, and visible result without sending secrets. Clear accounting and useful recovery matter. So does honest marketing: no plan should be described as unlimited AI merely because downloads are unlimited, and no comparison should accuse another builder of overcharging without a fair record of the same completed task.
Common questions
Are credit-based builders automatically unfair?
No. The important questions are what the unit measures, how retries and failures are handled, what resets, and whether the total cost of a verified result is clear.
Does unlimited source export mean unlimited AI generation?
No. Source entitlements, repeat downloads, and AI processing are separate. Uvilno's monthly generation capacity remains bounded on paid plans.
How much more usage does Pro include?
Current configured monthly AI capacity is 2.5 times Plus for Pro, and five times Pro for Ultra. These ratios do not guarantee a fixed number of completed websites.
