Can you export source code from Base44?
A direct answer, the limits that matter, and a practical way to check the workflow.
Direct answer
Base44 documents source ownership and GitHub export; it does not universally lock away code. Uvilno offers a different purchase: a permanent $4.99 source unlock for one project. In both products, exported frontend code and an independently migrated database, authentication service and hosting are separate deliverables.
45-word answer · Reviewed 2026-10-27Compare the entitlement that actually supplies source, not simply the cheapest advertised subscription. Base44 lists GitHub integration on applicable plans, while Uvilno offers individual permanent project unlocks alongside subscription entitlements. Review the current plan, repository permissions and export limitations before deciding.
An exit test has two parts: build the exported source on a separate host, then check every service it calls. Customer records, account identities, credentials and hosted workflows do not migrate merely because frontend files were downloaded. Inventory those dependencies before canceling either platform.
What to verify.
| Area | Documented behavior | Your verification |
|---|---|---|
| Base44 source | Code ownership and GitHub export are documented. | Read the vendor's ownership and plan terms. |
| Uvilno source | $4.99 once for one project's source entitlement. | Check Pricing and the project's Unlock action. |
| Backend portability | Source access does not itself migrate hosted services. | List auth, data and payment endpoints in the handoff. |

Read the editable test brief
Plan a portable customer tracker with Home, Login, Customers and Profile. Declare private customers in data/schema.json, use actual Uvilno.db operations, and document every hosted service that will remain after export. Do not imply source download copies identities or customer records. Keep the brief editable and show a launch checklist before building.
Preparing a brief does not start generation. Review and send it explicitly; builds use the normal allowance, and source access requires entitlement.

Does opening this test use my allowance?
Preparing the test brief does not invoke a model or create a billable build. Review the draft and explicitly send it to generate; normal usage and source entitlement rules apply.

Follow the data model, account boundary and source handoff before choosing a builder.
