A workspace that stays within reach.
Desktop software earns its place through a useful working surface: stable navigation, independent panes, a focused editor or data view and commands that do what their labels say. Uvilno's Desktop target generates a fixed application shell with a protected split-view, menu, shortcut and file runtime. Review the app inside simulated macOS or Windows chrome, use approved hosted records where needed and unlock its source for native packaging. Browser file access depends on explicit user choices and browser capabilities; native exports provide their own dialog-mediated bridge. A web installation and a signed desktop installer remain different release paths.
Free to start. Source stays private until unlock. See pricing.
AI Desktop App Builder for macOS and Windows
UpdatedA good fit when the scope is clear.
Individuals and teams creating a focused desktop workflow for documents, projects or operational records.
Use the route plan to decide what belongs in your first build. Bring your own facts, review the saved result, and expand only when the core journey works.
What should actually work.
Resize or collapse panes, switch and reorder workspace tabs, and restore a useful layout.
Open a chosen local file, edit it, save or download it and explicitly choose whether to upload its content.
Search actual commands and loaded records, use contextual actions and preserve edits after rejected saves.
Know the service boundaries.
- The simulator represents a desktop window; its controls do not manage the user’s host operating system.
- Local file dialogs require a user action. Browser fallbacks and cloud records do not imply unrestricted disk access or automatic offline cloud sync.
- Source exports require unlock. Native compilation, signing, notarization and distribution have separate toolchain and account requirements.
Three places to begin.
Make one yours.
Choose a direction, change the details, and carry the brief into Uvilno. Sign in, name your project, then review the brief in chat before you explicitly send the first build.
Replace the details with your own. Opening a brief does not start a build or use generation capacity.
From a brief to a result you can review.
Uvilno supports static websites and eligible multi-file Next.js projects. The output, connector setup, and execution limits depend on your project’s actual engine and scope.
Plan the journey
Name the routes, inputs, and expected behavior. Plan mode lets you review and explicitly approve a direction before building.
Build and refine
Review the isolated live preview, check desktop and phone layouts, and ask for focused changes. Recoverable builds can retain saved draft progress within their retention limits.
Keep the work
Use Inspect & Edit for supported mapped text, link, and color changes. Unlock source when ready to inspect, export, or use source GitHub sync.
Questions worth settling first.
Is a desktop app the same as a scrolling website?
Desktop targeting generates a locked workspace shell with independent views, panes, application menus and local file actions. Its interface uses web technology; Tauri and Electron packages add a native desktop host.
Can it read every file on my computer?
No. File access follows explicit picker/dialog choices and scoped native handles. The app cannot use a generated string to gain unrestricted filesystem access. Cloud upload is a separate explicit operation.
Does the install button build a signed native application?
The published app can offer browser installation where supported. Tauri and Electron exports provide source and build workflows; signing and distribution still need the appropriate credentials and review.
What does Uvilno cost, and when can I access source?
Free is $0. A permanent project source unlock is $4.99 once. Plus is $10/month with 2 new project unlocks per paid month; Pro is $20/month and Ultra is $59/month, with unlimited new source unlocks during the paid period. Generation remains usage-limited; the meter shows remaining capacity from 100% to 0%. Already unlocked projects remain downloadable after cancellation.
